Achille Castiglioni (1918 to 2002) was an Italian architect and designer known for furniture, lighting, radios and other objects, many now considered icons of postwar Italian design. As a professor of design he advised his students that curiosity about others, what they do and how they act, is essential to the work, telling them that without it, design is not the right profession.
