Ettore Sottsass (1917 to 2007) was an Italian architect and product designer known for his designs of furniture, jewellery, glass, lighting, homeware and office supplies, and who also worked on numerous buildings and interiors, often defined by bold colours. His lasting reputation rests chiefly on product design, including his later Memphis Group work, a multi-facet figure under ruling 759 rather than a pure architect.
