Verner Panton (1926 to 1998) is considered one of Denmark's most influential twentieth century furniture and interior designers. Over his career he created innovative, futuristic designs in a range of materials, especially plastics, rendered in vibrant, exotic colors. His style was strongly identified with the 1960s and regained wide popularity toward the end of the twentieth century, and several of his best known furniture models have remained in production.
