Sculptors of the Baroque, the dramatic, emotional and theatrical style of the seventeenth century, and of the lighter, more ornamental Rococo that followed it in the eighteenth. A sculptor belongs here when the cited article names the Baroque or Rococo as the artist's style. It excludes the Renaissance sculptors before them and the Neoclassical sculptors who reacted against both styles. Its makers worked in marble and bronze for churches, fountains and courts, and many ran large workshops, so a sculptor is placed here by the style the article names and not by the size of the studio.
