All Studio Pottery and Mingei Potters

Potters of the studio pottery movement, in which a single artist designs and makes each pot, and of the Japanese mingei folk craft movement that valued plain useful wares. A potter belongs here when the cited article names studio pottery or mingei. It excludes industrial ceramic makers and modernist ceramic sculptors. Their work centers on hand-thrown stoneware, glazes fired in kilns the potter controls, and plain useful forms, often with links between Japan, Britain and the United States, and a potter is placed here by the movement the cited article names.
