War and Press Photographers

Photographers who covered wars and news as photojournalists, from the American Civil War to the Second World War and later conflicts, producing the pictures newspapers and magazines ran. A photographer belongs here when the cited article calls the person a war photographer or photojournalist or names their war coverage. It excludes documentary photographers working on long social projects, who have their own group.
