Birthplace

Birthplace groups artists by the city or country where each one was born. Wikipedia notes that the use of the term "artist" to describe writers "is valid, but less common, and mostly restricted to contexts such as critics' reviews," showing that even the label itself can depend on background and convention. Browsing by birthplace shows where the people behind a body of work actually came from.
