Ballets created for the Ballets Russes, the touring company founded by Sergei Diaghilev in Paris, which brought together the leading composers, painters and choreographers of its time. The group includes the cubist ballet Parade, with a scenario by Jean Cocteau and music by Erik Satie, and the village wedding ballet Les Noces, with music by Igor Stravinsky, both of which changed the course of twentieth century ballet.
