Fred Astaire

Fred Astaire, born Frederick Austerlitz, was an American dancer, actor, singer and choreographer who lived from 1899 to 1987 and whose career in stage, film and television spanned 76 years; he is widely regarded as the greatest popular-music dancer of all time. Drawing on tap, classical dance and ballroom styles into an eclectic technique he called his outlaw style, he became famous for a long partnership with Ginger Rogers, with whom he co-starred in ten Hollywood musicals including Top Hat and Swing Time during the classic era of Hollywood cinema.
