Ann Hamilton

Ann Hamilton, born in 1956, is an American visual artist who emerged in the early 1980s and is known for her large-scale multimedia installations. She earned a BFA in textile design from the University of Kansas in 1979 before pursuing an MFA in sculpture at Yale, and has taught at the University of California, Santa Barbara and, since 2001, at Ohio State University, where she was named a Distinguished University Professor in 2011.
