Café Terrace at Night

Café Terrace at Night is an oil on canvas painting by Vincent van Gogh, painted in September 1888 in Arles, France. It shows the illuminated terrace of a café on the Place du Forum at night, with a large yellow lantern lighting the terrace and facade, small figures of people drinking, and a starry sky overhead. The work is unsigned, but its creation is documented through three letters Van Gogh wrote describing it. It measures about 80.7 by 65.3 centimeters and is held at the Kroller-Muller Museum in Otterlo, Netherlands.
