Girl Interrupted at Her Music is an oil painting by the Dutch artist Johannes Vermeer, made around 1658 to 1659, showing a woman turning from her music as a man leans in beside her. The scene reflects the courtship customs of well-off 17th-century Dutch households and the central place of music within them, staged in the kind of quiet, light-filled interior typical of Vermeer's work. It has been in the Frick Collection in New York City since 1901.
