The Storm on the Sea of Galilee, formally titled Christ in the Storm on the Sea of Galilee, is a 1633 oil-on-canvas painting by the Dutch Golden Age painter Rembrandt van Rijn. Classed as a history painting, it ranks among the largest and earliest works of Rembrandt's career and is his only known seascape. It vividly depicts the biblical miracle in which Jesus calms a storm threatening the boat carrying him and his disciples on the Sea of Galilee, capturing the violent motion of the waves against the calm figure of Christ.
