Contemporary Painters

Painters whose careers are chiefly or entirely late twentieth and twenty-first century, working without a specific named historical art movement affiliation that would place them in one of this atlas's other painter groups, including painters working in figurative, abstract, folk, outsider and street art traditions active in the present era. This group excludes painters, however recently active, whose work is explicitly identified with an earlier named movement such as Pop Art or Abstract Expressionism, who belong under that movement's own group instead.
