Giovanni Baglione (1566-1643) was an Italian painter and art historian active in Rome. He is best remembered for his collection of biographies of artists working in Rome during his lifetime, and in particular for his bitter rivalry with the younger painter Caravaggio, which played out in both his art and his writing.
