Performing Musicians and Vocalists

Artists whose primary practice is performing music, singing, or improvising, rather than composing a written score, spanning jazz, blues and popular vocal and instrumental traditions. Belongs here: jazz instrumentalists and bandleaders, singers and vocalists whose art is interpretation and performance, and improvising musicians whose recorded performances are themselves the primary work. Does not belong here: composers whose primary practice is writing a score for others to perform, who are grouped under Composers, even when a composer also performed their own work.
