Nadar

Nadar, born Gaspard-Felix Tournachon (1820 to 1910), was a French photographer, caricaturist, journalist, novelist and balloonist who championed heavier than air flight. In 1858 he became the first person to take an aerial photograph, and his photographic portraits are held in many of the major national collections of photography. His studio was continued after his death by his son, Paul Nadar.
