Elizabeth "Lee" Miller, Lady Penrose (1907 to 1977) was an American photographer and photojournalist who worked as a fashion model in New York City in the 1920s before moving to Paris and becoming a fashion and fine-art photographer there. During the Second World War she was a war photographer and correspondent for Vogue, covering the London Blitz, the liberation of Paris and the concentration camps at Buchenwald and Dachau; long denied recognition as an artist in her own right, her reputation as an art and war photographer was established only after her son discovered and promoted her work.
