Home›Printmakers, Calligraphers and Graphic Artists›BirthplaceBrowse ByBirthplaceBirthplace groups artists by the city or country where each one was born. Wikipedia notes that the use of the term "artist" to describe writers "is valid, but less common, and mostly restricted to contexts such as critics' reviews," showing that even the label itself can depend on background and convention. Browsing by birthplace shows where the people behind a body of work actually came from.FactsBirthplaceSourcesComments (0)Reader Challenges (0)FactsComparisonCore Arts DisciplineWell-attestedVisual Arts 1BirthplaceFilter Results51 entriesAdmission YearAll1952 (1)1970 (1)Area (sq km)All23.27 (1)41.38 (1)49.36 (1)102.32 (1)140.86 (1)186.46 (1)205.9 (1)208.22 (1)219.11 (1)219.32 (1)241 (1)292.81 (1)414.57 (1)414.78 (1)673 (1)808.08 (1)824.61 (1)827.83 (1)1168.72 (1)1485 (1)1572 (1)1889 (1)5820.26 (1)11,819 (1)17,192 (1)22,987.04 (1)30,689 (1)41,291 (1)41,865 (1)56,561 (1)70,273 (1)83,879 (1)102,600 (1)242,500 (1)302,069 (1)377,975 (1)632,702.3 (1)698,700 (1)923,769 (1)2,780,085 (1)3,287,263 (1)9,572,900 (1)9,866,632 (1)Dissolution or End YearAll1806 (1)1867 (1)Founding YearAll600 BCE (1)248 BCE (1)59 BCE (1)47 (1)200 (1)421 (1)716 (1)762 (1)794 (1)850 (1)950 (1)1050 (1)1255 (1)1275 (1)1325 (1)1457 (1)1575 (1)1580 (1)1753 (1)1768 (1)1994 (1)2005 (1)Founding Year Range EndAll-401 (1)-248 (1)-1 (1)716 (1)850 (1)1100 (1)Founding Year Range StartAll-500 (1)-248 (1)-100 (1)716 (1)850 (1)1001 (1)Independence or Founding YearAll962 (1)1776 (1)1801 (1)1804 (1)1816 (1)1830 (1)1848 (1)1861 (1)1922 (1)1947 (1)1949 (1)1960 (1)1991 (1)PopulationAll260 (1)29,447 (1)103,671 (1)114,921 (1)124,093 (1)144,873 (1)151,696 (1)249,466 (1)264,945 (1)267,991 (1)362,353 (1)390,734 (1)402,748 (1)546,397 (1)565,039 (1)672,545 (1)797,010 (1)874,408 (1)874,579 (1)886,040 (1)941,873 (1)1,000,000 (1)1,431,419 (1)2,028,499 (1)3,121,707 (1)3,367,579 (1)3,659,222 (1)3,866,233 (1)5,458,600 (1)7,837,463 (1)9,089,736 (1)9,154,242 (1)9,209,944 (1)9,219,113 (1)10,047,914 (1)10,993,100 (1)11,867,634 (1)18,130,208 (1)21,200,000 (1)40,000,000 (1)46,735,004 (1)58,900,000 (1)69,081,996 (1)69,414,000 (1)84,748,016 (1)122,587,000 (1)242,747,130 (1)340,587,000 (1)1,210,854,977 (1)1,407,698,000 (1)Show ResultsBrowseCompareSelect all 51AfyonkarahisarBirthplace1 entryAguascalientes CityBirthplace1 entryAligarhBirthplace1 entryAmasyaBirthplace1 entryAmsterdamBirthplace2 entriesAntwerpBirthplace1 entryAomoriBirthplace1 entryArgentinaBirthplace1 entryAustriaBirthplace1 entryAustrian EmpireBirthplace1 entryBaghdadBirthplace2 entriesBelgiumBirthplace2 entriesBolognaBirthplace1 entryBordeauxBirthplace1 entryBuenos AiresBirthplace1 entryChangshaBirthplace1 entryCharlotteBirthplace1 entryChinaBirthplace1 entryCroatiaBirthplace1 entryEdoBirthplace5 entriesFlorenceBirthplace4 entriesFranceBirthplace2 entriesHoly Roman EmpireBirthplace1 entryHuzhouBirthplace1 entryIndiaBirthplace1 entryIrelandBirthplace1 entryItalyBirthplace1 entryJapanBirthplace4 entriesJiangsuBirthplace1 entryKonigsbergBirthplace1 entryKyotoBirthplace1 entryLausanneBirthplace1 entryLeidenBirthplace1 entryLes CayesBirthplace1 entryLinyiBirthplace1 entryLondonBirthplace3 entriesMarseilleBirthplace1 entryMexico CityBirthplace1 entryNancyBirthplace1 entryNetherlandsBirthplace1 entryNigeriaBirthplace1 entryNurembergBirthplace2 entriesQazvinBirthplace1 entrySwitzerlandBirthplace1 entryTuscanyBirthplace1 entryUnited KingdomBirthplace2 entriesUnited StatesBirthplace5 entriesVeniceBirthplace2 entriesViennaBirthplace1 entryWrocławBirthplace1 entryZaltbommelBirthplace1 entrySources1.
