Rachel Whiteread

Rachel Whiteread is an English artist, born in 1963, who primarily produces sculptures in the form of casts, and who in 1993 became the first woman to win the Turner Prize. Among her most renowned works are House, a large concrete cast of the interior of an entire Victorian house, the Judenplatz Holocaust Memorial in Vienna, and Untitled Monument, her resin sculpture made for the empty fourth plinth in London's Trafalgar Square.
