Frederic Sackrider Remington was an American painter, illustrator, sculptor and writer who lived from 4 October 1861 to 26 December 1909 and specialized in the genre of Western American art. His works are known for depicting the Western United States in the last quarter of the nineteenth century, featuring such images as cowboys, Native Americans and the United States Cavalry; placed here among Sculptors for the bronze sculptures, such as The Bronco Buster, that are his most singularly identified works within the visual arts canon.
