A sculpture of an ancient Greek athlete captured mid-throw of the discus, created by the sculptor Myron around 460-450 BCE. The original bronze does not survive; the work is known today through several Roman-era marble copies, and it remains one of the most reproduced images of the idealized ancient athletic body.
