A marble sculpture of the Greek goddess Nike, created around 190 BCE and discovered on the island of Samothrace in 1863. Depicted alighting on the prow of a ship with wings and drapery caught in motion, it is celebrated as one of the great masterpieces of Hellenistic sculpture and is displayed at the Louvre.
