All Monuments of Ancient Egypt

Monuments built by the pharaohs of ancient Egypt, from the Great Pyramid of the Fourth Dynasty to the temples of Karnak and Abu Simbel on the Nile. A monument belongs here when the cited article places it in ancient Egypt. It excludes monuments of the ancient Near East and of Greece and Rome. The group follows the civilization the cited article names. These are among the oldest and largest stone buildings in the world, built as tombs and temples for the king and the gods, and they survive in the dry climate of the Nile valley. Later Roman buildings in Egypt are not placed here unless the cited article ties them to the pharaonic age.
