Digital art, or the digital arts, is artistic work that uses digital technology as part of its creative or presentational process, and the term can also refer to computational art that engages with digital media. Since the 1960s it has gone by several names, including computer art, electronic art, multimedia art and new media art. It includes work stored on physical media, such as digital painting, as well as work presented only in online galleries, and it extends into the field of visual computing.
