Kasuga Motomitsu is the name the Metropolitan Museum of Art records for a Japanese painter active in the early eleventh century, a name attached by tradition to the Kasuga school of painters. The museum holds a fourteenth century hanging scroll in ink and color on silk, Portrait of Xuanzang (Genjo) with Attendant, from the Japanese Kamakura period, which it credits to him as artist. The atlas records him as the named maker of that portrait of the Buddhist pilgrim and translator, which the divinity atlas lists among its sacred images, with the attribution as the museum gives it.
