Prints of War, Death and Grief

Prints that show the human cost of war and death, such as an etching of a mother holding her dead child and a series of eighty-two prints on the horrors of a long war. A work belongs here when the cited article names war, death or the loss of a child as its subject. It excludes political satire and religious prints on the Crucifixion. The group follows the subject the cited article names. Both works are by artists who drew on what they had seen of poverty, loss and violence, and both have become standard images of the cost of war.
