Pueblo and Hopi-Tewa Potters

Potters of the Pueblo and Hopi-Tewa peoples of the American Southwest, who hand-coil clay, polish it with stones and fire it in open pits, and whose families have handed the craft down for generations. A potter belongs here when the cited article names the Pueblo, Hopi or Tewa tradition in connection with the person. It excludes studio potters and modernist ceramic artists, who have their own groups, and potters of other Native traditions.
