Christian Religious Scenes

History, religious and mythological paintings whose subject is a Christian religious scene: an episode from the New Testament, the life of Christ, the Virgin Mary or a saint, a devotional icon, or a scene of specifically Christian worship and iconography. This group is split into two children by era, Medieval and Renaissance Christian Scenes and Baroque and Later Christian Scenes, since the subject spans well over a thousand years of continuous production and a single flat group would be far too large to browse. It excludes an Old Testament scene, gathered under its own group, and excludes a scene whose religious content is not specifically Christian, gathered under Hindu and Buddhist Mythology or Norse and Other Mythology as appropriate.
