The Atlanta Cyclorama, also known as the Cyclorama of the Battle of Atlanta, is a cylindrical panoramic oil painting created in the 1880s for the American Cyclorama Company, depicting the Civil War Battle of Atlanta of 1864. Unrolled, the canvas measures about 49 feet high by 358 feet long and weighs some 10,000 pounds. Originally painted as a travelling attraction aimed at audiences in the northern United States, it was bought and brought to Atlanta in 1891 by a promoter who had it altered to instead present the battle as a Confederate victory. The painting was displayed for over a century in a purpose built rotunda in the Grant Park area of Atlanta before being restored and relocated to the Atlanta History Center, where it reopened to the public in February 2019.
