The Abbey in the Oakwood is an oil painting by the German Romantic artist Caspar David Friedrich, painted between 1809 and 1810 in Dresden. It was first shown together with Friedrich's painting The Monk by the Sea at the 1810 Prussian Academy of Arts exhibition, and at Friedrich's own request it was hung beneath that painting. It is one of more than two dozen of Friedrich's works to include a cemetery or graves.
