Irises (painting)

Landscapes and Still Lifes

Irises is an oil painting by the Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh. Painted in 1889, it is a landscape with a cropped composition and one of several hundred paintings van Gogh made at the Saint-Paul-de-Mausole asylum in Saint-Remy-de-Provence, France, in the last year before his death in 1890. It has been in the permanent collection of the Getty in Los Angeles since 1990.

Entity-backed identity for the genre enum value this work already carries, resolved to an arts art-form by an explicit value-to-entity map (phase 3 bucket conversion, docs\design_entity_backed_browse_buckets_20260928.md). The genre fact itself, with its own citation, stays on the work unchanged.
