Pop Art Painters

Painters of Pop Art, the movement that emerged in the 1950s and flourished through the 1960s by drawing its imagery and technique from commercial art, advertising, mass media and consumer culture, most famously through silkscreen and other reproducible print methods applied to painting. This group gathers painters whose work is explicitly identified with the Pop Art movement, and excludes later painters who merely reference consumer or media imagery without the movement's own historical association, who belong instead under Contemporary Painters.
