French Popular Singers

Singers of French popular song, including the chanson tradition of Paris, whose voices and lyrics, from street singer to international star, defined French music hall and recorded song in the twentieth century. The group includes the singer called the Little Sparrow, the French-Armenian singer, songwriter and diplomat of the chanson, and the Egyptian-born French singer whose records sold in many languages across Europe.
