Dalida, born Iolanda Cristina Gigliotti, was an Italian-born French singer and actress who sold more than one hundred and forty million records worldwide over an international career. Recording in multiple languages including French, Italian, Arabic and Spanish, she became known for songs such as Bambino, Gigi l'amoroso, Il venait d'avoir 18 ans and Paroles, paroles, the last featuring spoken word by the film star Alain Delon. She remains one of the best-selling and most enduring popular singers in French entertainment history.
