Portrait of Innocent X is a circa 1650 oil on canvas painting by the Spanish artist Diego Velazquez, depicting Pope Innocent X, head of the Catholic Church from 1644 to 1655. Many artists and art critics consider it the finest portrait ever created; it is housed in the Galleria Doria Pamphilj in Rome, with a smaller version at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and a study at Apsley House in London.
