A temple complex in present-day Cambodia, built in the early twelfth century under King Suryavarman II as a state temple originally dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu and later transformed into a Buddhist site. It is the largest religious monument in the world by land area and the foremost surviving example of Khmer architecture.
