The Centre Pompidou, more fully the Centre national d'art et de culture Georges Pompidou and known colloquially as Beaubourg, is a building complex in Paris, France, designed in the style of high tech architecture by the team of Richard Rogers, Su Rogers and Renzo Piano together with Gianfranco Franchini. It is named after Georges Pompidou, President of France from 1969 to 1974, who commissioned the building, and it was officially opened on January 31, 1977 by President Valery Giscard d'Estaing.
