Indalo

The Indalo is a Bronze Age rock painting found in the cave of Los Letreros near Velez Blanco in the Almeria province of Spain, dated to around 2500 BC. It depicts a stick figure holding what appears to be an arch or rainbow shape above its head, and local tradition names the figure for Saint Indaletius and credits it with the power to hold a rainbow in its hands. Beyond its archaeological importance as one of the prehistoric paintings at the site, the image has been adopted in modern times as the official symbol of the province of Almeria and as a protective charm painted on homes and businesses, on the belief that it brings luck only when given as a gift rather than acquired for oneself.
