The Museum of Modern Art, known as MoMA, is an art museum in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, located on 53rd Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. Its collection spans the late nineteenth century to the present and includes more than two hundred thousand works of architecture and design, drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, prints, illustrated and artists' books, film and electronic media, and the museum has been instrumental in shaping the history of modern art, particularly modern art from Europe.
