The Transamerica Pyramid is a pyramid-shaped 48-story modernist skyscraper at 600 Montgomery Street in the Financial District of San Francisco, California, designed by architect William Pereira and built by Hathaway Dinwiddie Construction Company. It was the tallest building in San Francisco from its completion in 1972 until 2017, standing 853 feet tall, and was the eighth-tallest building in the world upon completion. The building is no longer the Transamerica Corporation's headquarters but remains associated with the company through its logo.
