Villa Savoye is a modernist villa and gatelodge in Poissy, on the outskirts of Paris, designed by the Swiss-French architect Le Corbusier and his cousin Pierre Jeanneret, with interiors and furnishings by Charlotte Perriand, and built between 1928 and 1931 using reinforced concrete. Originally a country retreat for the Savoye family, the house exemplifies Le Corbusier's five points of modern architecture and is considered one of the most recognizable examples of the International Style. It became French state property in 1958, survived proposals for demolition, and received official historical monument status in 1965, an unusually early designation since Le Corbusier was still alive; after restoration completed in 1997 it now operates as a museum.
