Fractio Panis

Fractio Panis is a fresco in the Greek Chapel of the Catacomb of Priscilla on the Via Salaria Nova in Rome, dated to the first half of the second century. It shows seven figures gathered at a table; some scholars read all seven as women given their long skirts, veils and upswept hair, while the Vatican describes the scene as six men and one woman. The fresco sits on the face of the arch directly above the altar tomb where the Eucharist was celebrated.
