Joseph Ignaz Appiani was a South German painter of the late Baroque era who lived from 1706 to 1785. He was the son of the plasterer Pietro Francesco Appiani of Porto Ceresio and Maria Sophia of Furstenfeldbruck, and his uncle was the plasterer Jacopo Appiani.
