Berthold Imhoff was an artist known for his religious murals and paintings. He immigrated from Germany to the United States and settled in Reading, Pennsylvania, where he established a successful art and fresco business, before leaving in 1914 to make his home and studio near St. Walburg, Saskatchewan, in Canada. From there he decorated churches in rural villages across Saskatchewan and North Dakota, while continuing to return to Reading for commissioned work.
