Bernardino Campi was an Italian Renaissance painter from Cremona who worked in Reggio Emilia from 1522 to 1591. He was one of the teachers of Sofonisba Anguissola and of Giovanni Battista Trotti, and belonged to the prominent Campi family of Cremonese painters, which also included his relatives Giulio and Antonio Campi. His influences included the Cremonese painter Camillo Boccaccino as well as Correggio, Parmigianino and Giulio Romano, and he was commissioned by Vespasiano Gonzaga to lead the interior decoration of the Palazzo del Giardino in Sabbioneta.
