Luca Signorelli (c. 1441/1445-1523) was an Italian Early Renaissance painter from Cortona, noted especially for his skill as a draftsman and his use of foreshortening. His masterpiece is the fresco cycle of the Last Judgment painted between 1499 and 1503 in Orvieto Cathedral, whose powerful anatomical studies and dramatic compositions influenced later generations of painters.
