A double portrait painted by the Netherlandish artist Jan van Eyck in 1434, believed to depict the merchant Giovanni di Nicolao Arnolfini and his wife in their home. Its meticulous rendering of texture and light, and the small convex mirror reflecting the room and two additional figures, have made it one of the most closely studied paintings of the Northern Renaissance.
