The Funerary Monument to Sir John Hawkwood is a fresco by the Italian painter Paolo Uccello, commissioned in 1436 for Florence Cathedral to commemorate the English condottiero John Hawkwood. Painted in trompe l'oeil to resemble an equestrian statue, it is an important example of art commemorating a soldier for hire who fought in the Italian peninsula, and is considered a seminal work in the development of linear perspective.
