Sunflowers is the title of two series of still life paintings by the Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh. The first series, painted in Paris in 1887, shows sunflowers lying on the ground, while the second, made a year later in Arles, shows a bouquet of sunflowers in a vase. Van Gogh linked both sets in his mind to his friend Paul Gauguin, who acquired two of the Paris versions, and he later included Sunflowers among the decorations he prepared for the guestroom of his Yellow House in Arles in anticipation of Gauguin's visit.
